a Real Mission

a Real Bookstore is the community destination for booklovers. We offer a thoughtful and locally edited assortment of books and book-related products designed to satisfy the customer’s passion for reading and learning. We are dedicated to being a community focal point, offering a sense of connection and discovery through store events, service and selection.

Opened Thursday, November 18, 2010, a Real Bookstore is North Texas’ largest locally-owned bookstore. The store is located 20 minutes north of Dallas in The Village at Fairview, which with sister property The Village at Allen makes up the largest mixed-use development in Texas.  (www.thevillageshopping.com.)

a Real Bookstore is a perfect fit for the vibrant and thriving community of The Village at Fairview,” said Teri Tanner, CEO of Double T Consulting and owner of a Real Bookstore. “The center has a great variety of choices for shopping, dining and entertainment, and a Real Bookstore is a spot for people to meet and enjoy themselves. Our guests will enjoy personalized customer service and recommendations, a lively schedule of community and author events, an inviting atmosphere to relax with a book and a glass of wine, and much more.”

The 20,000-square-foot, single-level a Real Bookstore was designed by San Francisco-based URS. The store includes a 2,000-square-foot children’s section with space for stories and activities, an event space for national authors on tour or for book group meetings, and an area for cooking classes and demonstrations. Its indoor/outdoor café features kid-friendly menu items (popcorn, hot dogs) along with adult-friendly beverages (beer, wine).

a Real Bookstore mirrors the sense of community and excitement we have created at The Village at Fairview through special events and amenities for our guests,” said Gar Herring, president of developer The MGHerring Group. “In its offerings and its attitude, a Real Bookstore is a step above the traditional bookstore.”

a Real Bookstore occupies a prime location between Macy’s and JCPenney in The Village at Fairview, near Cyclone Anaya’s Mexican Kitchen and iPic Cinema. The Village at Fairview is at the northeast corner of U.S. 75 (Central Expressway) and Stacy Road, north of Dallas.
