Fierce Words and Stiff Drinks at a Real Bookstore

In honor of Hamlet von Schnitzel, the mouse on the cover of Let's Pretend This Never Happened, we will be serving the Vodka von Schnitzel ($6.00). Jenny is bringing Copernicus the Monkey, Juanita the Weasel and possibly a special guest appearance by Wolf Blitzer. When you purchase your book you will be issued a wrist band for first come, first in line for signing.  We will begin issuing wrist bands at 5:00pm the day of the event. If you pre-purchased your book from a Real Bookstore, you will need to pick up your wrist band when you arrive.  Please bring your aRB proof of purchase with you.

Jenny Lawson realized that the most mortifying moments of our lives—the ones we’d like to pretend never happened—are in fact the ones that define us. In Let’s Pretend This Never Happened, Lawson takes readers on a hilarious journey recalling her bizarre upbringing in rural Texas, her devastatingly awkward high school years, and her relationship with her long-suffering husband, Victor. Chapters include: “Stanley the Magical, Talking Squirrel”; “A Series of Angry Post-It Notes to My Husband”; Thanks for Asking”; “And Then I Snuck a Dead Cuban Alligator on an Airplane.” Pictures with captions (no one would believe these things without proof) accompany the text.

In order to have anything signed at a Real Bookstore event, a copy of the event book must be purchased from a Real Bookstore. If you purchase your book from a Real Bookstore  in advance of the event, please save your receipt and present it at the event in exchange for a wristband.
